It is in great sadness to announce the loss of our beloved Grandmother Elutha Thomas (Charles) who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 07, 2026 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Ele, as what we dearly called her, brought so much joy and warmth to everyone around her and we are gathering to celebrate her life in a way that reflects the love and kindness she shared with us all.
Ele is survived by her daughters Susan Shears-Charles (John), Carol Bain (Ricky), son Carlyle, stepdaughter Brenda Japal, grandchildren Nicole Hassan (Raheem), Shaquelle and Shayna Hibbert, Jody and Nate Bain, and great grandchildren Khai, Zion and Ziggy, brother George Thomas and Sister Fregina Thomas, her cousins Allison and Jennifer, health-workers, friends and acquaintances.
Ele was predeceased by Mom Willimina Charles and Dad Daniel Charles, husband Nelson Thomas, Brothers
Emanuel, Alphas, Alfred, Alban Charles, daughter Sherma Hibbert, grandchildren Tyrel Thomas-Hibbert, Niasha Main and Jeremy Lennox Shears.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 5pm and the funeral service on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10am at Glen Eden Funeral Home Cemetery – 4477 Main St, West Saint Paul, MB, R4A 2A8. All friends and family are welcome to join us in remembering Ele and sharing stories of her meaningful life.
